If you don’t have a Chase Sapphire Preferred, I would strongly recommend that as your next card. (Couples should consider getting two of them; make sure to space out those applications so you can easily hit the bonus spending requirement of $4,000 in 3 month).
The only exception to this strategy would be if you’re traveling ASAP – you could get the Capital One Venture first, and then 90 days later get the Chase Sapphire Preferred.
Also, if you are a business owner, I would consider getting the Chase Ink Preferred first because of the amazing sign-up bonus and I’d hate for that to go away before you get it. The Chase Ink Cash is also a great value right now with 50,000 points and no annual fee with a 0% APR offer.
